Oral history interview with Frieda Handin Kaye, May 21, 1992.

Kaye describes her home and social life in Seattle's Jewish community, ca. 1920-1940. She talks about her parents' move from Aberdeen, Washington, to Seattle for the benefit of their children's Jewish cultural awareness. She remembers Bikur Cholim Sunday School and Talmud Torah, mentioning Rabbi Simon Winograd and music teacher Al Hoffman. Kaye also reminisces about the predominantly Jewish neighborhood around Yesler Way. She describes meetings of the Jewish League, founded by Rabbi Solomon Wohlgelernter, and the Players Club, a private endeavor of Sophie Rosenstein of the University of Washington School of Drama. She also mentions that her brother played for the Seattle Symphony for many years.
